More tips:

  • Use lean ground beef- This will help cut down on all the grease. Just don’t get too lean of a cut or they will dry out. Normally I get 80/20.
  • Substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
  • Meat thermometer- Make sure the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees at the thickest portion of the burger.
  • Don’t skimp on seasoning. It gives the burger so much flavor.
  • Make sliders instead of regular size burgers if you have kiddos with smaller appetites. Sliders also work great for parties. Perfect for little hands or when you need smaller portions.
  • Don’t crowd or overlap the burgers in the air fryer. The burgers need to be in a single layer.

FAQs

How long does a burger take in an air fryer? ›

Air-fry the burgers for 8-10 mins, turning once until browned and completely cooked through. Lay a slice of cheese on each burger then top with the crispy bacon. Return to the air-fryer for 1 min until the cheese has melted.

Are burgers better in the air fryer or pan? ›

The air fryer works by circulating hot air in its contained chamber, so as a matter of interest, your air fryer burger will cook opposite to what you'd see on a sauté pan, with the exposed side of the burger cooking more quickly and becoming browner than the underside of the patty.

Do you broil hamburgers in air fryer? ›

Place the AirFryer Basket onto the Baking Pan. Put burgers into the basket and put assembled pan into Rack Position 2. Set to convection broil for 15 minutes, stopping to flip burgers halfway through cooking. Serve immediately.

How do you keep burgers from puffing in an air fryer? ›

Make an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb; this prevents them from puffing up. Place in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Flip patties over and continue cooking on the second side, 8 to 10 minutes more.

Can you air fry raw hamburger? ›

Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F. Place the patties in the basket, leaving some space around each (cook in batches if needed). Air fry the burgers for 6 minutes, then flip and continue cooking until the internal temperature of the burger reaches 155 degrees F, about 2 to 4 minutes more.

What temperature should I cook my burgers in the Airfryer? ›

Place the burgers in the air fryer basket in an even layer. Cook at 360 degrees for 4 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into the center registers 140-150 degrees for medium well doneness.

Why not to cook hamburger in air fryer? ›

Hamburgers. Here's the thing: You technically can cook a hamburger in an air fryer, but it's just not going to come out with that lovely medium-rare burger temperature you're likely going for. It turns out that you don't need to heat a burger very much for it to reach the level of doneness that most of us enjoy.

How long to air fry a burger at 400? ›

Place beef patties in the air fryer basket. Set temperature to 400°F (200°C) and set time for 12 minutes. Cook burgers until a digital instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre of each burger reads 160°F (71°C).

Can I put aluminum foil in an air fryer with burgers? ›

Foil is safe to use in an air fryer so long as you follow three basic rules: never let foil touch the heating element; make sure the foil is weighted so it doesn't blow around the basket; and avoid contact with acidic ingredients, which can cause the foil to leach onto your food.

How do you cook burgers in an air fryer without making a mess? ›

While I prefer the natural grill marks the air fryer basket makes, for a completely mess-free experience, use air fryer liners or a disposable air fryer basket. Shape the patties into equal-sized portions so that they cook evenly at the same time.

How to season a burger? ›

Mixing salt, pepper and any other seasonings right into your ground beef is one way to season them. This method has the advantage of distributing the flavors throughout the meat, and it's the only realistic way to get add-ins like minced onion or herbs into the mix.

What does broil mean on Airfryer? ›

Broiling requires strong heat that comes just from the top of the oven. For melting cheese or browning a casserole, opt for an air fryer with a broiler feature, like the Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven, which will only use the direct, top-down heat to create a crisp, bubbly top on your dish.

Do burgers need to be flipped in the air fryer? ›

The short answer is yes, you should flip your burgers when cooking them in the air fryer, and here's why. Even Cooking: Flipping your burgers in the air fryer helps ensure that both sides of the burger reach the desired internal temperature.

Do burgers taste good in air fryer? ›

I have to say; the air fryer made a darn good burger.

I don't know if there's anything an air fryer can't do. I preheated it to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and cooked the patty for six minutes before flipping it over and letting it cook for two more. The cleanup was minimal since our air-fryer baskets are dishwasher-safe.

Do you have to flip frozen burgers in air fryer? ›

It takes 14 minutes to cook four 4oz frozen burgers in the air fryer at 370°F. Be sure to flip them halfway through!

How long to cook raw frozen burgers in air fryer? ›

How Long to Cook Frozen Hamburgers in an Air Fryer. To make delicious frozen burgers in the air fryer, cook at 350° for 8-10 minutes. You may need to adjust the cook time depending on the size and thickness of your burger. It is best to use a meat thermometer.
