Tips & Tricks

Mix or Drizzle

Half the barbecue sauce will go into the crock-pot to slow cook and help flavor the pork. The other half is used after cooking. You can either mix it into the meat so the sauce is distributed evenly or you can let people just drizzle some on the sandwiches to get as much or as little as they would like.

Prep

Since this recipe does have a long cook time, you can start it right before you go to bed the night before and let it cook through the night. Place the crock-pot on warm or when you get up in the morning and the meat will be ready to shred for kick-off.

How much root beer? I have it cooking now. I used 20 Oz. Covers half of the roast. Is that enough?

Yeah, just a bottle. you don’t have to have the root beer cover it all. If you are home to flip it half way through cooking also. Let me know how it turns out!
